Who are we?

I am currently running this business alone out of my home in Bloomington, IL. I got into 3D printing a few years ago and have loved it ever since. I used to do 3D modeling in the past, and now my day job has taken me in a different direction and I no longer work on projects like that, and so my skills have atrophied.

Phylos Studios

I have a personal friend who has been painting miniatures his entire life and with so much experience I had to ask if he would paint some for me. After some discussion we came to a working agreement for him to be my model painter and get a cut of all painted sales, as well as some credit kickback. His name is Mitch Zook and he has a YouTube channel you can check out!

After a while of working together on painting models I decided to open a new branch of the Phylos brand for him to manage himself, this is how Phylos Studios was created. They are the painting and modeling branch of our business. Please feel free to check out the Phylos Studios page and socials!

Models We Sell

Since I do not make my models I purchase from designers who produce high-quality work. I have the commercial licenses to sell from a number of modelers listed below, and I’m always on the lookout for talented modelers to add to the roster. We have recently started some minor in house modeling, nothing close to the quality of our commercial partners, this is a small service for those looking for basic models and don’t mind an extended lead time.

Note: We do not sell the STL files for any of our models, so please don’t ask.

  • DM Stash is the bulk of what I have to sell, they produce top-tier models and terrain along with a 5e supplemental to go with each release. I found them before I had a 3D printer and knew they were the ones I wanted to deal with.

  • I found 3D Hexes almost by accident, I was looking for a prop in one of my games and I found this cool owl statue that I use as a little totem prop. After I started this business I started looking around for another good modeler for terrain and I saw a few nice pieces and they happened to be by the same designer.

  • I found McGybeer through a sale on my main STL platform. They were part of the sale and when I looked through their stuff I liked the articulated designs and thought that it would make a good addition to my gallery of items to sell.

  • This was a natural transition with my other prop based sales, I saw them when going through some of my models one day and they looked like quality stuff.

  • Upon looking through a plethora of Black Friday sales I stumbled upon Matt’s wonderful fidgets. I think his creations will make a great addition to our fidget familiars lineup!

  • I was looking to expand my selections of dice towers since those have been really good sellers for us so far and I found Fates End during the Black Friday sale and while looking through their material I can tell they will be a good fit for what we are looking to offer!

  • We kickstarted a set of their hammers to increase our armory of cool props available to us! The quality they display matches up well with everyone else we work with.

  • We had to jump on the opportunity to stock these amazing creations. Kaijumon releases sculpts of realistic style Pokemon with amazing detail and dynamic poses. They are mostly done in traditional 32mm scale so could even be used in your homebrew DnD games!

  • Although they primarily work in the Sci-Fi space, their sculpts are epic and the content they give us access to is extensive. We are glad to have so much more wearable props because of GA, and look forward to getting more of their content printed in the future.

  • We have backed every dice tower Kickstarter they have released since we discovered them. They put out very highly detailed and creative dice towers on a regular basis. We will continue to support them and stock their excellent dice towers in the future!

  • We backed a Kickstarter for CMS before we even truly became a company back in the early 20s. It wasn’t until we decided to open our selection up to include chess sets that we included them in our roster though. Their quality is not the most premium in the way of high detail, in fact it is their simplicity that we saw value in for these.

  • These modelers are newer additions, backed on Kickstarter for their detailed chess sets. As of now, that is the only content we have from them.
