Printing miniatures

We print with a plant-based photopolymer resin. We use a waste resin capture system that ensures all resin that is not cured in the printing process is safely disposed of. This involves keeping the excess suspended in isopropyl alcohol, then taking entire container and exposing to a minimum of 2 weeks of outdoor sun exposure to fully cure any volatile resin components, then agitating and cured again for good measure. The cured waste product is safe for normal waste disposal. The support structures that are used in the printing process are collected and exposed to outdoor sun as well for the same 2 weeks to ensure it is all fully cured before disposal.

Printing Props

We print larger products with polylactic acid filament, which is largely considered the most environmentally friendly printing option due to wide recyclability and theoretical biodegradability. We retain all the support material, failed prints, testing and calibration prints, and anything that can’t be sold for some reason. We use this scrap material to melt into molds. The true scrap percentage of our filament is less than 5%, possibly as low as 0.5% if we could accurately account for all scraps.
